Living in the Blue Mountains, going to Sydney is quite the journey. However, I summoned the courage to make a trip to Sydney to attend the launch of Clinique’s new campaign with Margaret Zhang, Tavi Gevinson and Hannah Bronfman. I had one goal to complete before I arrived at David Jones, and that was to find a winter coat. I scrambled around Sydney, with 20 minutes until I had to be at the event, I dashed to Zara. I entered with caution knowing that late night shopping and sales spawns a frenzy that few can deal with. Eventually, I spotted a lonely black coat that was in my size. I tried it on, and knew that it was the one so I quickly bought it and hurried to level 7 at David Jones.
After entering the event, I was welcomed by some sort of instant gif making machine, which I did a star jump in front of (tried to). I would’ve done a pirouette but there wasn’t enough time! Everyone sat down on chairs that had a Clinique gift placed on top. After a worthy appraisal by Jesinta Campbell, Margaret Zhang graced the stage. Her hour long discussion with Jesinta Campbell included what its like to be a millenial in a board room, the origins of her blog and the importance of continuing university whilst pursuing other endeavours. Following this, there was a chance to meet the both of them. After lining up, it was my chance to get a photo, Margaret complimented my black scarf and top as it was a similar vibe to what she was wearing, which made me happy. As I was getting a photo, I was trying to think of something to say, but I had nothing. So I blurted out “I thought you were going to be taller”, I thought of a 100 other things on the way home that I could’ve said. But I was still excited and my makeup had be done really nicely by the Clinique experts, so yay! Here is the coat that I bought and wore to the event, I was inspired to take some photo’s of it and the rest of my outfit after Margaret’s talk. Here is the top that I wore underneath and also the top that Margaret complimented.
